Our History

1993
In October Christopher's Fine Jewelry was established on Front Street in historic Georgetown, South Carolina by Christopher Cervini and his parents, Louis and Evelyn. Christopher brought to the partnership a jewelry manufacturing degree as well as a value for exceptional customer service. Louis contributed the wisdom of a career working in business and management in the printing industry nationwide. Evelyn's elegance and gentle spirit made her a treasured presence in those early days as she answered phones, patiently put the jewelry out each day and helped each person find just the right piece. Referred to as the "Little Tiffany's of the Tidelands", the founding vision for our store was to be a source of the finest quality designer and custom made jewelry. Read our infamous "Lisa the Good Luck Elephant Story" from our Grand Opening week.

2003
In October Christopher's celebrated its 10th anniversary with the distribution of a full color catalogue and a week of special promotional events.

2005
After 12 years in the neighboring historic waterfront town of Georgetown, in June Christopher's completed its own retail complex and moved the entire operation to Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island to better serve our customer base. With four times the amount of inventory, Brazilian pine floors, cherry walls and granite countertops, our customers compliment us on the shopping experience we provide and it is often said that our store rivals those in cities such as New York.
On Thursday, December 1st, Christopher's held its first "Ladies Night": A special invitation only event at which ladies shopped, filled out their Christmas wish lists and enjoyed hors d'oeuvres.

In June, Christopher's Fine Jewelry completed the design process on its Pawleys Island hook bracelet. Sold out in its first month, as well as a continuing best seller, the line has been expanded to include earrings and pendants in the original design.
In August Christopher's won the highly coveted InStore Magazine Coolest Store award while being named the third coolest store in the nation. "Movies have the Oscar's, television has the Emmy's and the world of fine jewelry has InStore Magazine's annual "America Coolest Store Awards.'"
